Olaoluwaposi “Posi” Oshinowo has joined M.C. Dean as senior vice president and chief legal officer, leading our enterprise-wide legal function. He reports to Bill Dean, president and chief executive officer, and serves on the executive team.

Oshinowo brings 14 years of legal experience and a longstanding relationship with M.C. Dean, having served as outside counsel for seven years. Through that work, he developed a deep understanding of its people and operations. His hands-on approach to problem-solving reflects M.C. Dean’s culture of going directly to the source of a challenge — visiting job sites, speaking with employees, and understanding the circumstances before recommending a path forward. Across his career, he has handled litigation, investigations, compliance, and workforce matters, with a focus on translating legal and business risks into clear, actionable guidance.

“As M.C. Dean continues to grow, our legal needs are becoming increasingly complex across our business,” said Dean. “Posi already knows our business and our people, which means our legal function will keep moving forward without missing a beat.”

In his new role, Oshinowo will advise Dean and senior leadership on legal strategy and significant business matters while overseeing corporate legal risk, governance, and legal considerations across the enterprise.

“M.C. Dean is a company I know and respect, and I’m honored to serve in this role,” said Oshinowo. “My focus is on being a trusted partner to our leaders and legal team, helping the company manage risk and pursue new opportunities.”

Before joining M.C. Dean, Oshinowo advised boards, executives, and legal leaders on major litigation, investigations, regulatory challenges, and other high-consequence business decisions. Most recently, he led Wiley’s Employment and Labor Practice, representing Fortune 500 companies and government contractors.

Born in Nigeria, Oshinowo spent part of his childhood in Grenada before settling in Natchitoches, Louisiana, which he considers his hometown. His interest in law began early. By age 7, he was already telling his teachers he wanted to become a “lawyer for businesses.”

“The American dream is deeply personal to me. As the first in my family to navigate the U.S. education system and attend college here, I learned the importance of finding my own path, communicating clearly, and turning challenges into opportunities,” said Oshinowo. “Those experiences shaped my approach to problem-solving, which I believe resonated with M.C. Dean during our seven years working together and is something I look forward to continuing to bring to the company.”

Oshinowo earned his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern State University, where he was a scholarship athlete in track and field. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.

M.C. Dean is pleased to welcome Oshinowo to the company.
