M.C. Dean was recognized for our commitment to safety at the March 2020 Construction Safety Excellence Awards ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Association of General Contractors (AGC) presented the company with a Safety Excellence award, acknowledging M.C. Dean’s exemplary performance in safety and occupational health management and risk control. The presentation to the panel of judges was led by chief executive officer Bill Dean and the safety team.
“It’s no longer enough to adapt in response to industry advances; M.C. Dean must lead the change. With an increased emphasis on people and systems, we adopted a long-term outlook and devised proactive practices that keep workers safe,” said John Bennett, vice president of Safety.
In the past decade, improvements to M.C. Dean’s safety program have cut down on roughly $2.7 million in workers’ compensation, reflecting a decrease in cost and injuries. The company’s impressively low incident rate and experience modification rating (EMR) of 0.48, continue to improve year over year and lead the industry.
