M.C. Dean recently sponsored two events with the Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association (AFCEA)—Stuttgart Chapter in Germany: a chapter luncheon and a charity golf event.

The AFCEA—Stuttgart Chapter luncheon was held at Patch Barracks Community Club on April 2. The monthly event brings together members of the Stuttgart military community and AFCEA International representatives to network and discuss industry-wide security trends. AFCEA—Stuttgart proudly hosted Dana Deasy, chief information officer of the U.S. Department of Defense, as the guest speaker. Mr. Deasy spoke to attendees about the four tenets of digital modernization.

M.C. Dean also served as a Gold Sponsor for the 15th Annual AFCEA Stuttgart Golf Classic Charity Event on July 21. The tournament raises money for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) scholarships within the AFCEA—Stuttgart Annual Scholarship Fund. This year’s tournament yielded more than $10,000 for local graduating high school seniors.

“Increasing community engagement in Stuttgart helps enable two-way communication between members of the military community and AFCEA professionals,” said Ron Keenan, M.C. Dean’s vice president of OCONUS operations, and board member of the scholarship program. “M.C. Dean is keen on supporting events like these that allow for active engagement with students to kickstart their careers and help them build industry relationships outside the workplace.”

AFCEA is a non-profit that brings together the military, government, industry, and academia communities to increase thought leadership in the global security market. M.C. Dean has supported AFCEA events in the Stuttgart community for many years.
