South Carolina projects recognized for safety excellence
Three of M.C. Dean’s projects were recently recognized for their impressive safety records with the Annual Commendation of Excellence Award from the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce.
All three projects recorded zero lost time injuries in 2018, increasing efficiency and reinforcing M.C. Dean’s reputation as an industry leader in safety. The award-winning projects include: The Medical University of South Carolina’s Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, Boeing, and upgrades on a data center for a confidential client.
“By inspiring a mindset of personal responsibility from management all the way down the project team chain, our superintendents have caused a huge cultural shift in regard to safety,” said John Bennett, vice president of safety. “This shift isn’t just reflected in impressive records and statistics, but in the mentality of our employees as well. Our dedication to safety is apparent far beyond the job site, garnering M.C. Dean industry wide recognition.”
Superintendents, project managers, and foremen ensured that every team member felt responsible for smooth and safe operations on the jobsite. In light of this success, team leaders continue to push for the next level of team-centric mentality, striving to eventually reach a level of interdependent leadership in safety and quality of production.
