FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

M.C. Dean was recently awarded a 2019-2020 Engineering Excellence Merit Award by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Metropolitan Washington (ACEC/MW) for our work at the National Museum of the U.S. Army. The award was presented at the ACEC/MW Engineering Excellence Award Gala in Arlington, Virginia, on Wednesday, December 4.

Each year, ACEC/MW recognizes engineering firms for projects that demonstrate a high degree of achievement, value, and ingenuity. As the Electrical Engineer of Record, M.C. Dean designed and delivered six electrical room modules (ERMs), as well as modularly manufactured fire alarm and public safety telecommunications assemblies.

Electrical engineer Mike Fisk accepting design award for M.C. Dean.“It is a tremendous honor to play a part in the future of the Army while honoring its history and service members,” said Mike Keatley, senior vice president of Electrical Systems. “The project presented unique electrical and aesthetic challenges, but teams rose to the occasion and designed innovative solutions that exceeded the customer’s expectations. This tribute has been anticipated for decades, so to be recognized for our contributions is a huge achievement.”

The museum, located in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, has been in the works for years. Slated to open in June 2020, it will offer the public the opportunity to engage with educational exhibits and stories, honoring more than 240 years of Army history.
