Meet Katerina

M.C. Dean is dedicated to building high-performing teams and supporting our great people in their continued learning and career path development. Katerina Botnar joined M.C. Dean in 2007 in our Ukraine office before relocating to the U.S. in 2011 as part of the finance team. Four years ago, she transitioned to an operational role. Today, she leads the fire alarm service team.

Katerina focused on advancing her career in an increasingly technical field by seeking new industry certifications and leading her team to do the same. In 2020, Katerina achieved a National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Fire Alarm Systems 3 certification, a nationally recognized credential based on inter-related elements of system design, installation, maintenance, and inspection.

Since 2015, Katerina has earned four fire safety-specific certifications and received her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

“Right now, I have a unique opportunity to lead my group, to build a business, and make a difference in the trade,” said Katerina. “We are developing the cybersecurity standards for the (Fire Alarm) industry.”

“Many of the senior leaders across our firm have worked extensively abroad, and in functions and disciplines outside of those they currently lead,” said Bill Dean, chief executive officer. “Expanding your skills and tackling new roles and disciplines develops expertise and agility — the building blocks of great M.C. Dean teams.”
