Grassroots & Charter

This grassroots effort began meeting biweekly for casual chats over coffee, quickly expanding into a companywide network. In 2022, Women at M.C. Dean officially established a charter, solidifying the purpose, objectives, goals, and organizational structure of the employee affinity group.

Since chartering, Women at M.C. Dean has organized subcommittees focused on key areas of growth for individuals, as well as for the collective advancement of women at M.C. Dean. Annual leadership and regional representatives are elected to improve coordination and reach across our major geographies.


Mentoring & Learning

We provide robust educational opportunities and a network of mentorship for both our women and women of underserved communities surrounding M.C. Dean. In support of this initiative, we host biweekly virtual coffee chats where employees discuss topics such as stress management, self-defense, and financial wellness.

Supporting Our Community

We make a positive impact on the world around us through our work and through our giving. In support of this initiative, we have formed a relationship with Capital Area Food Bank where we frequently host volunteering events. We also have participated in nationwide events like St. Jude Walk/Run, Special Olympics Polar Plunge, and Wreaths Across America to create unity between our regional teams.

Recruiting New Talent

We diversify the internal demographics of M.C. Dean by creating recruiting initiatives that focus hiring efforts on all marginalized groups and locations. We have built partnerships with the Society of Women Engineers at George Washington University (GW), University of Virginia (UVA), and George Mason University (GMU).

Socializing and Building Camaraderie

We strengthen the bonds of the female community at M.C. Dean by providing social opportunities with integrated networking components. From happy hours to escape rooms, our committee brainstorms unique ways to increase the connection between different geographic centers of M.C. Dean.
