The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) recognized M.C. Dean for our superintendent development program. Jessica Rhodes and Tracy Amos, employees on M.C. Dean’s human resources team, spoke about our “meet them where they are” approach to field leadership training.

In late 2022, M.C. Dean launched a new superintendent training program to build future field leaders within our current workforce. In coordination with our superintendents, our learning and development team created this program using existing training materials, an online delivery platform, a project management course delivered through a local community college, and the NCCER assessment leading to an industry-recognized superintendent certification.

M.C. Dean has doubled in size over the past five years—a feat attributed to deliberate recruitment and retention efforts and investments in our people. Learning and development, including well-defined career paths, are essential to the strategy.
