The safety and health of our employees and the general public is paramount. As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread, M.C. Dean will continue to provide periodic guidance on workplace prevention, travel restrictions, and company escalation processes as the conditions change. We are closely following CDC guidance and are working in coordination with our customers in the U.S. and around the globe to align with their COVID-19 response and continuity of operation plans.
CLIENT/PROJECT SITE DIRECTION
Client guidance may vary by project site. Some sites will have explicit guidance, while others will not. If you receive guidance from your client site, immediately escalate that information to your Project Lead who will engage Strategic Business Unit (SBU) leadership and the Rapid Response Team.
We have formed an integrated team, composed of safety, security, risk management, human resource, legal, and communication experts, called the Rapid Response Team. The Rapid Response Team, led by M.C. Dean's Safety department, is working in lockstep with the SBU leaders to address customer and employee questions and concerns. Please note, our escalation protocol for the Coronavirus is the same as any safety incident notification. Contact your Project Leader/Supervisor and/or Safety Representatives.
SITE PLAN, EXPOSURE PROTOCOL, & DECISION TREES
Site Response Plan has been developed in alignment with the CDC, WHO, OSHA, and other government and public health agencies. The response plan highlights required actions, written procedures, and helpful resources to support our employees on project sites through the coronavirus pandemic.
ModularMEP™ Environmental Health & Safety Plan
In response to COVID-19, M.C. Dean’s ModularMEP™ manufacturing facility in Virginia has developed new protocols and precautions to protect employees against potential illness. This Environmental Health & Safety Plan focuses on social distancing, personal hygiene, and ongoing communications.
COVID-19 Europe page provides tools and information, including host nations requirements & general orders, essential letters, and helpful resources, to support project leaders and employees traveling to and within Europe.
Exposure Protocol highlights scenarios, such as coronavirus diagnosis or suspected exposure, and provides the appropriate precautions and next steps in adherence with CDC guidelines.
Decision Trees help project leaders and safety representatives assess risk associated with potential coronavirus exposure scenarios and identify associated protocols in alignment with CDC guidance.
Hierarchy of Controls
Hierarchy of Controls is a framework for controlling exposure to the coronavirus. This framework outlines five levels of control highlighting the most and least effective ways to minimize or eliminate the risk of COVID 19 exposure.
Safety Protocols & VOSH Workplace Compliance
We are reinforcing our COVID-19 safety protocols on project sites/office locations in anticipation of the Virginia Occupational Safety and Health (VOSH) regulations expected to become effective this week. Our existing safety practices were created in alignment with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, and are consistent with the new VOSH standards.
Coronavirus Guidance as of March 16

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread and in light of President Donald Trump's National Emergency declaration Friday, March 13, 2020, M.C.
